Community Garden - River of Refuge
Planting Fall Veggies with the kiddos living at River of Refuge, and doing some overall maintenance to the garden. This opportunity will require close-toed shoes and clothing you don’t mind getting dirty. Please bring gardening gloves and water. This opportunity requires mild physical strength and mobility and is good for volunteers and their school aged children. After the harvest, we may enjoy a small snack together.

Kansas City Crawfish Festival
Growing Futures is in great need of volunteers for our big upcoming fundraiser event in partnership with the Overland Park Rotary Club Foundation, the Kansas City Crawfish Festival on Saturday, May 17th at St. Pius X Church! This will be a fun event between 6pm-10pm for all involved, so don't miss your chance to show up for Growing Futures at this exciting event!
Volunteers are needed: Friday on BBQ Team Smoker Watch and prepping veggies, to Saturday set-up and cooking and food service, thru Sunday clean-up.

Located in the Downtown Overland Park District, Growing Futures Early Education Center is a non-profit Head Start organization that serves 800 low-income individuals living in Johnson County, Kansas, by providing high-quality early education opportunities and comprehensive family services, often at little to no cost for qualifying families. Their program focuses on ensuring that the 223 children served (ages 0-5) are prepared for kindergarten when they enter school districts. They aim to eliminate as many barriers as possible for families to help lift them out of poverty. Thank you for supporting their mission to nurture children and strengthen families, to enrich the community.
